Trade in heavy machinery and equipment at Dubai’s Jebal Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) has almost doubled since 2006, according to the authority.
The figures were released during the Jafza’s Strategic Customer Forum, attended by industry leaders in Dubai on June 19.
Economic Zones World (EZW) UAE Region Managing Director Talal Al Hashimi, is quoted in the Khaleej Times as crediting the growth to “top of the line infrastructure facilities and services”.
The sector represents 20% of JAFZA’s total companies, will 1219 firms based in the freezone.

The move, announced by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) on June 20, said the measure would prevent petrol being re-sold both within the UAE and to other neighbouring countries.
