BIM supplier eyes US $136m revenue
Increased adoption of BIM to drive success
Leading Building Information Modeling (BIM) provider Omnix International is on track to generate more than US $135,000, 000 in revenue for 2011, according to director Dr. Jayant Deshpande.
The company is also predicting a 40% rate of growth over the same period, following the introduction of the Autodesk Infrastructure Suite; integrated BIM-based software, which includes the 2012 editions of AutoCAD, Autodesk Navisworks and Autodesk Revit Architecture, Structure and MEP.
“The Middle East is currently seeing an influx of major construction projects that ably reflect the region’s move towards recovery,” Deshpande.
“With the advent of these new projects, utilising strategic BIM software is a must to help reduce the clashes between trades that are often missed during the design stage,” Deshpande added.
The announcements were made at promotional road shows held in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
During the events presentations were held on the new AutoCAD; the latest version of Computer Aided Drafting application for 2D and 3D design; Autodesk Navisworks to help architecture, engineering, and construction professionals gain control over project outcomes; and Autodesk Revit Architecture, Structure and MEP, a more digital approach in building design, delivery and management.
Omnix International has had a key presence in a number of infrastructure projects across the UAE, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
“We are upbeat in reaching our revenue goal in 2012 . We are also eyeing to play a major role in the many ongoing projects in the region,” Deshpande said.
The increasing number of major infrastructure projects is also expected to increase Omnix’s UAE & GCC customer base by 15 to 20%.
“Utilising revolutionary BIM software gives our customers a realistic view from a virtual model that allows them a better understanding of the complexity of the structures being designed. Potential clashes are detected early in the process and gives room to make the necessary changes and revisions immediately. Omnix International remains fully committed to providing its wide range of BIM solutions across the current crop of major projects in Middle East region,” said Deepak Mehta, Manager, Omnix International.
