Dubai Municipality has announced that it has completed the first phase of constructing family playgrounds and sports stadiums in multiple residential areas in Dubai.
Commenting on the project, Dawood Al Hajri, director general of Dubai Municipality, said: “The project aims to provide all the requirements for all housing areas in Dubai to provide the residents the luxury of living, we have taken into consideration the types of games to be suitable for different ages for children, in order to preserve their health and wellness.”
“In addition, we provided all the requirements for people of determination as an important element in the design of arenas and stadiums, through the selection of games that are flexible and easy to use.”
Th project includes family courtyards and football and basketball courts equipped with smart entrance as a social and sporting destination for residents. The installed smart gates are an electronic system at the yards’ entrance to enable the owners of the neighbouring houses access to facilities by swiping key cards which will be distributed to them by the end of September.
The municipality added that these squares and playgrounds in residential neighbourhoods are essential elements of urban planning as they contribute towards increasing social links by providing happiness and comfort. This initiative was undertaken under the directives of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council.
“We take the vision of our wise leadership to promote the principles of welfare and happiness among the community members as an approach and basis for all the projects implemented by the Municipality. The comfort and happiness of the residents and citizens is our top priority,” Al Hajri concluded.
