Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme opens tenders for 250-unit residential project

Housing project will cost between $218mn to $272mn with completion slated for the end of 2022

The Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme (SZHP) has approved the launch of engineering consultancy tenders for a new 250-unit residential project. The development will take shape in the Al Owainat area of Khor Fakkan, in Sharjah’s Eastern region.

The housing project is estimated to cost between $218 million to $272 million and completion is expected by the end of 2022.

The winning firm will provide the planning, design and supervision services for the project, the statement from SZHP said.

The SZHP states that the decision to launch tenders follows a board meeting, which saw its members approve 1,000 decisions to support housing, to mark Ramadan and as part of its housing programme in 2019.

Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development and Chairman of the Programme said the approval is in implementation of the directives of the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and the monitoring of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.

The UAE Government has prioritised housing, wellbeing and social cohesion, Dr Al Nuaimi added. He also praised the role of the Sharjah Government and its cooperation in providing land for the project.
