ADNOC Refining awards FEED contract to McDermott International
McDermott says contract award will reflect in its Q2 2019 backlog
McDermott International says it has won a ‘sizeable contract’ from ADNOC Refining to provide front-end engineering design (FEED) services for the Refinery Off Gas (ROG) project at Ruwais Refinery in Abu Dhabi.
The firm defines sizeable contracts as between US $1 million and $50 million.
According to a statement from McDermott, its scope of work in the concept study phase includes evaluating various technology configurations and options for the recovery of hydrogen, ethane and sales-grade LPG or C3 and C4.
The firm says the ROG FEED services will be used as the basis for the preparation of the engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) estimate and inquiry phase.
Work on the project is expected to begin immediately and McDermott says the contract award will be reflected in its Q2 2019 backlog.
