Hodariyat Bridge done six months ahead of schedule

Abu Dhabi’s TDIC hands over the country’s largest cable-stay bridge to Department of Transport

Abu Dhabi’s master developer of tourism, cultural and residential projects, Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC), has announced the completion of the UAE’s largest cable-stay bridge, six months ahead of schedule.

The 1.3 km-long Hodariyat Bridge, which links the western coastline of Abu Dhabi city to Hodariyat Island, provides a 29m vertical clearance to allow ships to pass underneath it, and carries six lanes of traffic and two walk ways.

The handover of the bridge to the Department of Transport in Abu Dhabi follows the completion in January of the Al Bateen Beach project by TDIC, which is located in close proximity to the bridge.

Al Bateen Beach features an800m long beach that is open to the public, as well as lawn and picnic areas, sports courts featuring soccer and volleyball grounds, a play area for children, event space, kiosk, and food and beverage outlets.
