BIM Design Challenge – Just 10 more days to register to win a Lenovo Workstation

Challenge asks BIM users across the region to take on the challenge of conceptualising and delivering digital models for hypothetical projects in the region

There are just 10 more days to register for the first-ever BIM Design Challenge, and initiative by Redington, powered by Autodesk and endorsed by Big Project ME.

The BIM Design Challenge asks BIM users across the region to take on the challenge of conceptualising and delivering digital models for hypothetical projects in the region, while working with the constraints of the new normal imposed by COVID-19. Participants have been given two challenges to resolve, with each project posing distinct scenarios and obstacles for contestants to overcome.

The idea behind these challenges is to actively promote and improve BIM technologies at all levels and to assess the level of knowledge of the technologies in architectural design.

The deadline for registrations is December 23, 2020 and all entries must be submitted no later than January 7th.

All submissions will be judged by a three-person panel of experts – Neil Brooker from Autodesk; Dr Anas Bataw from the Centre of Excellence in Smart Construction; and Nicky Dobreanu of the CIOB.

The judges will not only evaluate the quality of each entry but will also focus on the relevance of the applicant’s BIM method and the depth of design, planning and collaboration displayed.

The winners of the challenges will win Lenovo ThinkPad Mobile Workstations, with the winners of the competition announced that the Big Project ME Awards 2020, on January 26, 2021 at the Ritz Carlton JBR in Dubai. The winning entries will also be featured in Big Project ME magazine and online at MEConstructionNews.com
