Steady process is being made on the 400,000sqft Khorfakkan Amphitheatre, according to authorities. The project is being developed in two phases by the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) and is being implemented in cooperation with the Sharjah Directorate of Public Works and Khorfakkan Municipality.
According to a statement, Phase One covers the south side of the beach and includes the construction of an amphitheatre, a walkway overlooking the beach, a skating rink, sport courts, picnic areas and a children’s playing area.
HH Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah inspected the project site on November 22, in addition to other development and vital projects in Khorfakkan. He was received by Salah bin Butti Al Muhairi, chairman of the Initiatives Implementation and Infrastructure Development Authority in Sharjah.

He also directed authorities to add more parking lots and toilets, and the establishment of a mountain path linking the current parking lots and the Al Rafisa water channel.
The project will also have leisure facilities such as a restaurant, cafe and games area, in order to ensure the highest levels of comfort and entertainment for visitors, the statement said.
