Sharjah Public Works Department hands over new nursery
$2.5m nursery will accommodate 88 children
The Sharjah Public Works Department has completed work on a new nursery in the Diba region, according to a report by the Emirates News Agency (WAM). The Diba Al Hisn Model Nursery is part of a larger project that the Sharjah Government is working on, in an effort to offer better education within the emirate.
The Sharjah Educational Council is responsible for the new nursery, which accommodates 88 children, and features eight classes for activities, a food court, indoor and outdoor play areas, administrative offices, and other ancillary service facilities. The nursery was built at a cost of $2.5m.
According to the Sharjah Public Works Department, the Diba Al Hisn nursery is part of phase one of a project ordered by Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The project calls for the construction and operation of 66 nurseries to upgrade learning processes in the emirate.
Phase one of the project saw work begin on seven nurseries in total; three in Sharjah City, two in Al Dhaid, along with three in the Eastern Region including Kalba, Khor Fakkan and Dibba Al Hisn.
