$14m sustainable building launched in Fujairah
Ministry of Infrastructure Development project to have reduced energy consumption
The UAE government has announced the completion of a major cultural centre project in the northern emirate of Fujairah, using sustainable materials, in line with its GCC green building regulations, at a total cost of $14 million.
A report on WAM quoted a senior official as saying that the UAE Ministry of Infrastructure Development will be handing over the facility next week.
“The projects being implemented by the ministry, including the cultural centre project, are characterised by modern architecture while considering sustainability standards and reducing energy consumption,” remarked Mariam Abdul Kareem, the head of the implementation department at the Ministry of Infrastructure Development.
She pointed out that the construction and maintenance of all government establishments are being done on par with international standards, green building regulations and sustainability requirements, to reduce their environmental impact.
This comes in line with the government’s vision to make the UAE among the world’s best countries by 2021, by providing high-quality services, stated Kareem.
