Afnan District set to be completed by September 2018, with 90% of the overall project scheduled be finished by the end of 2020

Sales of the first phase of Deyaar Development’s Midtown development in Dubai will launch this month, with the project set to complete by September 2018, the company said.
Construction of the Afnan District is scheduled to begin in the last quarter of 2015, for which Hyder has been appointed lead consultant and U+A Architects as the lead architect.
The Afnan District includes seven residential developments comprising 659 apartments of varying sizes. Divided into 132 studios, 374 one bedroom apartments, 143 two bedroom apartments, and 10 three bedroom apartments, the size of the units range from 425 to 2,033 square feet and incorporate space optimising designs increasing usable space and decreasing wasted area within a unit.
It marks the first phase of the wider Midtown development, which will span 1.2 million square feet of land, and include a built-up area of 5 million square feet. Deyaar expects 90% of the overall project to be completed by the end of 2020.
Midtown, located in the International Media Production Zone (IMPZ), will feature a 1km-long green concourse and 27 buildings sharing a one-level podium with retail and parking areas.
The development will also feature 5,000 square feet of dedicated daycare facilities and sports amenities such as tennis courts, basketball courts, lap pool, family pools, jogging track and traverse climbing walls.
Deyaar will fund 30% of the $817 million Midtown project through bank loans, Reuters reported. The project will target mid-income residents.
