Nakheel is leasing retail and restaurant spaces at the Night Souk, a new shopping and dining destination in its Deira Islands development, the company said.
The Night Souk, which stretches 1.9 km along the Deira Islands waterfront, will include 5,000 shops along with 96 quayside cafes and restaurants.
“Deira Islands is set to transform Dubai’s Deira district into a world-class hub for tourism, retail and entertainment. The Night Souk, a key feature of this new waterfront city, is being developed in line with Dubai’s tourism vision,” said Ali Rashid Lootah, chairman of Nakheel.
The souq “will promote local business and entrepreneurship, serve hundreds of thousands of residents living on and around Deira Islands and act as a major attraction for Dubai’s growing number of annual tourists,” he added.
Nakheel’s 15.3 sq. km. Deira Islands development comprises four islands, adding 40 km to Dubai’s coastline. All four islands will feature residential, retail, and commercial units.
The Night Souk will be located on the 4.5 sq. km. south island of the development. The project will also house Nakheel’s Deira Islands Mall as well as five hotels the developer plans to build.
