The tallest building in Abu Dhabi will be named the Mohammed Bin Rashid Tower, after the Ruler of Dubai, the state news agency reported.

The announcement was made by Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, as he inaugurated the tower at a Flag Day ceremony. The move follows directives from the UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Developed by Al Dar Properties, the Mohammed bin Rashid Tower consists of 474 residential units.

Naming the building after Sheikh Mohammed will “reflect the strong bonds of fraternity and love between all Emiratis, and reflect the high status of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid in the UAE and internationally,” Sheikh Hazza said.
