Bahrain ramps up distribution of 5,000 housing units within Al Ramli District
Distribution of housing units began in May 2020
Bahrain’s Ministry of Housing has announced that processes were underway to ensure the distribution of 5,000 housing units within the Al Ramli District of the Kingdom was completed as soon as possible.
According to a report by BNA, Al Ramli District is one of four new housing projects being implemented as per the orders of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, which will cover the construction of 40,000 housing units. The distribution of the 5,000 Al Ramli housing units began in May 2020, it added.
The report stated that the Ministry of Housing is coordinating with the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) to speed up the supply of water and electricity to remaining units, so that the handover to beneficiaries could take place as soon as possible.
The ministry also assured citizens that they would still receive the housing allowance, denying claims made on social media platforms.
The Al Ramli Suburb Housing Project is one of the main projects included in the ministry’s programme to implement the order of his Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to build 40,000 housing units, in addition to the housing commitment included in the current government’s programme.
The minister emphasised that the distribution of the Al Ramli suburb contracts represents a new housing asset added to the achievements of the housing march in the kingdom. It also marks the start of operations for one of the new cities in Bahrain, following the first housing phases in Salman City, Khalifa City and East Hidd.
