WSP adopts ‘EachforEqual’ pledge to celebrate gender balance & diversity on IWD 2020

Campaign is designed to empower WSP’s employees to strike a pose for gender equality and diversity

WSP in the Middle East celebrated gender balance and diversity by launching a week-long schedule of activities held under the International Women’s Day (IWD) 2020 theme: ‘Each for Equal’.

The firm says it is joining the global #EachforEqual movement by encouraging employees to highlight the significant contributions females make towards influencing greater harmony and achievement within society.

“Equality is the cornerstone of our communities and vital in enabling workplaces and businesses of the future to thrive. As such, we strongly believe in the need to influence change by leading an open conversation that highlights the positive impacts of gender balance and diversity to our entire industry, not just WSP,” explains Caroline Parsons, HR director and director of Shared Services at WSP in the Middle East.

She adds, “By celebrating the success and tenacity of our female employees at WSP in the Middle East this International Women’s Day, we’re calling on our people to fly the flag for industry-wide equality by showcasing that gender diversity and inclusion is not a one-off initiative; it’s an organic continuation of the way we choose to work.”

According to a statement from WSP, it will be inviting employees to capture themselves striking the #EachforEqual pose through the week. It will then share these #EachforEqual snaps via social media, along with thought-provoking quotes from its people on the topic of gender balance and diversity.

Dean McGrail, managing director – Property & Buildings and Gender Balance and Diversity Leadership team sponsor at WSP in the Middle East said, “Gender equality will only become a reality if we make it happen, which is why we are calling on all our people to celebrate the amazing women in their lives, educate themselves about their own biases, and embrace inclusion. Our people are the embodiment of the #WSPforAll drive, and we are proud to empower them to raise the bar for gender equality and diversity by making an #EachforEqual pledge.”

In addition, the firm says it is committing to the #EachforEqual cause by highlighting the engineering journeys of its people through special daily editions of #engineeredOURway – a people-driven content series that showcases the company’s diverse pool of talent.

The week of activity will culminate in WSP hosting a #WSPforAll webinar at 3pm on Thursday 12th March. This will provide a collective opportunity for all employees to engage in celebrating gender balance & diversity.
