Empower connects Palm’s Royal Atlantis with district cooling services

Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences is being supplied with 10650 RT of cooling services for its expansion phase.

Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower) has connected 10,650 RT capacity of cooling service to the Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences at Palm Jumeirah.

As part of the preparation for Expo 2020 Dubai, the hotel is undergoing restorations with recent announcement suggesting that 85% of the renovation and expansion has already been completed. Empower’s cooling services are for the new expansion phase of the Hotel.

Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO, Empower, said that the company is proud to be part of the largest tourism and commercial project in the UAE and the region.

“We are honoured to be working again on the Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences project by providing 10,650 RT for their new expansion phase. This reflects the growing confidence of investors and developers in Empower,” he added.

Bin Shafar also highlighted that district cooling services have become an essential element for major real estate projects, locally and internationally, due to their unique features and benefits. Moreover, district cooling systems are environmentally friendly and contribute to energy efficiency since it uses 50 per cent less energy compared to conventional cooling.

“We work to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development that takes into account economic development, whilst preserving the environment and protecting natural resources. This supports the Dubai Plan 2021 to make Dubai a smart and sustainable city whose environmental elements are clean, healthy and sustainable,” he concluded.
