Sammon Group delivers 12 school in total; five in Abu Dhabi

The Sammon Gorup has announced handover of 12 schools, five of which are in Abu Dhabi, with the rest in  Al Khatem, Al Khazna, Al Towaya, Al Jahly in Al Ain and Ireland.

The Irish family-run business, a developer and designer of educational facilities, now says it is keen to “share knowledge and experience to improve the standard of education facilities in the region”.

The 12 new schools total an area of more than 1.5million square feet, providing more than 10,000 new learning places.

“Over the past years we have partnered with governments, private operators, architects and consultants to bring out solutions that are feasible and cost-effective,” commented group founder and CEO Miceál Sammon.

Solutions presented by the group include pre-cast and rapid build facilities, developed in close collaboration with education ministries, private operators and school owners, who “need specialised and cost-effective solutions for future learning spaces”, the group says.

The announcement was made ahead of Sammon’s participation in the Building Future Education MENA 2011 exhibition, taking place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre October 25-26.

During the exhibition, Micael Sammon will deliver a presentation titled ‘Architecture and Design to Create World Class Facilities. Sammon’s non-executive director John Dennehy will join a panel on education reform.

Sammon group has operations in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and United Kingdom.
