Gargash Enterprises, the distributor for Mercedes-Benz in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, has signed an agreement to exclusively use Mobil lubricants in the marque’s passenger and commercial vehicles.

The association between Mercedes-Benz and Mobil goes back to 1909, when a world land-speed record of 205.7km/h was set by a Mobil-lubricated Mercedes-Benz.

Karl-Johan Sandesjo, general manager of Gargash Enterprises, said the partnership with the ExxonMobil joint venture, EMA Lubricants Company, will help deliver better performance and protection to customers’ vehicles.

EMA Lubricants Company was incorporated in 1984 to market Mobil lubricants, greases and specialty products. It blends Mobil products at its joint-venture plant MELUBCO in Jebel Ali, Dubai.

Calling the agreement a “landmark occasion,” Samy Elansary, general manager of EMA Lubricants Company, said Mobil’s lubricant range is ideal for both new vehicles and older ones, helping ensure fuel efficiency and protection from high temperatures.
