A number of high-value pieces of equipment went under the hammer at a recent Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers two-day sale in Dubai, including a 2012 Powerscreen XH320SR impact crusher that sold for $400,000.

Other highlights included a 2010 Mercedes-Benz Actros 4141 concrete pump truck that sold for $107,000, a 2009 Komatsu GD825A-2 motor grader that sold for $105,000, and a 2010 Caterpillar 365CL that sold for $220,000.

In all, 1,920 lots were sold on behalf of more than 180 sellers, with more than 55% of the auction sold to non-UAE registered buyers, with 790 registered bidders from 62 countries. Around 15% of the lots were sold to online bidders.

“Having a summer auction in Dubai is always extra challenging with the extreme temperatures, but our team was well prepared and pulled off a highly successful sale,” said Eduard Faig, the industrial auctioneer’s regional sales manager for the Middle East.

“In fact, it’s been one of the best summer auctions we’ve seen in Dubai in recent years, with a fantastic line up of machinery and a great crowd of on-site and online bidders.

“Particular strong performers in the auction were motor graders, rollers, mobile cranes and telescopic forklifts.”

Also auctioned were 332 generator sets, including four unused 2015 Cummins genset with 120 kVA rating. The “enormous selection” of generators received competitive bidding from the crowd, said Faig.
