Construction work has begun on the $544.5 million One at Palm Jumeirah development in Dubai, a joint venture between the Omniyat Group and Drake & Scull International (DSI).
A ground-breaking ceremony for the project was held yesterday and attended by key executives of Omniyat and DSI, according to a statement.
One at Palm Jumeirah, a luxury residential high-rise located at the entrance of the Palm, was designed in collaboration between New York-based Soma Architects, Japanese interior design firm Super Potato, and Lebanese landscape architects Vladimir Djurovic.
The development is scheduled to be complete in 2017, the statement said. The 25-storey tower will contain 90 apartments.
“We are absolutely thrilled to break ground today on what will be, in the near future, one of the finest residential developments anywhere in the world,” said Mahdi Amjad, Executive Chairman and CEO of the Omniyat Group, quoted in the statement.
“One at Palm Jumeirah is specially crafted for the most privileged of the privileged few, which shows the commitment which is reflected in our design approach,” said Khaldoun Al Tabari, Vice Chairman and CEO of Drake & Scull International (DSI).
