A spate of construction accidents have hit the country, with the latest incident being reported from Hatta, an enclave in the Emirate of Dubai to its south-east.
A report by local daily Gulf News states a man was heavily injured when an under-construction building fell on him. The incident, which took place over the weekend, led to the man being airlifted to Dubai’s Rashid Hospital by the Dubai Police Air Wing.
No additional information specifying the cause of the accident or an update on the man’s health has been provided so far.
Reports last week had informed a string of accidents in Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, mostly caused due to negligence of precautionary measures. On-site safety in the construction industry has been under the scanner of late for the loss of life and material it has gone on to cause across various spots in the country.
