A range of construction activities pertaining to 602 villas have been released and approved by the President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the follow-up of His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

‘The measures will be undertaken ‘to secure adequate housing for every citizen to ensure family stability and decent living for citizens,’ a statement from the Follow-Up Committee said, following a meeting chaired by Ahmed Juma Al Za’abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs and chairman of the committee, according to a report by WAM.

The report added that 76 houses will undergo maintenance work and 53 will be replaced under this plan, which also includes the construction of 473 new villas.

This decision follows Dubai Municipality’s announcement earlier this week regarding the construction of 32 residential units in Hatta. Big Project ME had reported, in October 2013, about the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, under which 2,854 Emiratis from Dubai and the Northern Emirates were to receive $353mn in housing grants.
