Remarks:
This new pipeline will connect Kirkuk oil field to distribution and storage facilities at Haditha. The planned pipeline will connect IT1-A and K-3 pumping stations. K-3, in the Al-Anbar province is the middle point of Iraq’s North and South oil companies, with facilities to store and pump crude oil. IT1-A is the second station along Iraq-Turkey pipeline route, located southwest of Mosul, and 181 kilometres from the K-3 station.
Two intermediate pumping stations, known as K-2 and K-2W will also be connected to the pipeline. The aim of this scheme is to transfer crude oil in two directions, carrying Basra crude from South Oil Company from K-3 station to IT1-A and Kirkuk crude towards K-3. Client has issued a tender for the main contract and expects to receive bids in January 2014.

This project is in Iraq. Known as the Baghdad Elevated Train scheme, it will be developed with Transport Ministry and Baghdad Investment Authority, and operate alongside the metro. The first line of monorail will run from Mustansiriya to the Central Station in Alawi al-Hilla in central Baghdad via Waziriya, Shaab, Sarafiya bridge and Buratha mosque, Abdulmohsin al-Kazimi Square, Eden Square and Muthanna Airport.
The second line will run from Baya area to Doora highway via Oqba Square and will end at Masbah metro station. Alstom has signed an estimated $40-million contract with government of Baghdad for the design phase of the scheme, including civil works, electromechanical studies, ground analysis, infrastructure and topography. It is aiming to work on the construction phase, which is estimated to last (5) years.

This hotel will be located on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai. It will be built on the property that is currently housing the Metropolitan Hotel, opposite Al Safa Park. The towers include two at 74 floors and one at 40 floors, with a total of 1,460 apartments, ranging from one to seven bedrooms. Eleven penthouses, including two VIP penthouses over a 4-storey-high podium – will also be built. Each of the towers will house a single-storey, 720 square metre penthouse and (2 Nos.) two-storey penthouses ranging from 795 square metres to 820 square metres.
The three hotels include – Fashion Hotel – W (27 levels), Luxury Hotel – St. Regis (6 levels) and the Main Hotel – Westin (37 levels). They will be managed by Starwood and have 1,623 units. The total built area is approximately 390,000 square metres plus 27,000 square metres of gardens. A tennis academy and clubhouse with eight tennis courts, including one covered air-conditioned court is another feature of this mega project.
The development will also feature a one-of-a-kind entertainment theatre. The venue of the purpose-built theatre, designed by Paris-based designer Jean Rabasse, will open in 2016. Once completed, the complex will be one of the region’s most luxurious hotel and entertainment developments.
The landmark development will include:
– 1,600 hotel rooms, spread between three hotels (lifestyle, luxury and main);
– An iconic Las Vegas-style ‘aqua’ theatre;
– A French provincial-inspired garden; and
– Food and beverage venues.
Local/Australian joint venture Habtoor Leighton Group (HLG) has been awarded a $515 million contract on this scheme. Under the agreement, HLG will be responsible for construction of the integrated hotel complex comprising a five-level podium, a 36-storey tower and a 25-storey tower within a total gross floor area of 350,000 square metres. Leading British architects WS Atkins has been appointed for the development of residential blocks in this development.
The client has also selected Knight Frank to provide retail consultancy expertise for the podium under the residential towers and Asteco Real Estate will manage and lease the towers and retail outlets.

This project is in Saudi Arabia. The metro will consist of three major lines, which will be called Orange, Blue and Green. The 67-kilometre Orange line will connect Makkah Road with Obhur, passing through the central part of the city northward. It will have 22 stations besides a branch line to the east along Sari Street. The 24-kilometre Blue line will link King Abdulaziz International Airport to Old Airport Road with 17 stations.
The 17-kilometre Green line will run along Palestine Road with a branch to the Old Airport and end at the Haramain Railway. It will have only seven stations. The planned public transport system also includes a bus service using (816) buses linking metro stations with all residential districts in the city. Buses will run 750 kilometres in various districts and have 2,950 stops. A new company, Jeddah Metro Company, has been established to implement this scheme, which is a joint venture of Jeddah Municipality and the Jeddah Urban Development Company.
Jeddah Metro Company is set to tender the pre-project management contract on this project within the next two weeks. It is understood that six consultants have already been pre-qualified for the role. A contract covering the engineering and design work will also be tendered by end of November 2013, with a contract award before the end of 2013. Six consultants have also been pre-qualified for this contract.
Pre-qualification process for the main construction contracts is expected to commence at the beginning of 2014, with tenders to be released towards the end of 2013. All contracts are due to be awarded during 2015. Construction is expected to last between three and five years.
