Fleet and Mobility Summit: Taking transportation and mobility from point zero to Net Zero

The summit takes place at the Radisson Red Hotel in Dubai Silicon Oasis at a time when achieving Net Zero has become a major priority for authorities in the region

Experts at Truck & Fleet Middle East’s Fleet and Mobility Summit will look at how the fleet and transportation sectors can help the region achieve its Net Zero ambitions tomorrow (21 September).

The Fleet and Mobility Summit takes place at the Radisson Red Hotel in Dubai’s Silicon Oasis at a time when achieving Net Zero has become a major priority for the region’s governments and municipalities. Registration is complementary but mandatory for industry professionals.

Completing the Fleet and Mobility Summit, the ‘How can we help the region to achieve its Net Zero ambitions?’ session brings together an expert panel of speakers and industry representatives to look at the ways in which they can contribute to making countries and cities greener places to live in, while ensuring that the region maintains the extraordinary growth it has enjoyed over the past half century. Saudi officials will also be participating at tomorrow’s summit to discuss 100% green transportation.

In June 2022, WSP & TRSDC said they were eyeing decarbonised mobility solutions at The Red Sea Project.

“Like other parts of the world, the region is asking the question: What will it take to achieve Net Zero?,” says Stephen White, Head of Content at Truck & Fleet Middle East. “Other regions have fallen back on governments to incentivise and push the private sector. We have the opportunity to make rapid progress here, if we make the right decisions now, but this requires full engagement with all stakeholders. This is one of the first chances to get that discussion moving in the market.”

The fleet sector will continue to be a vital contributor to trade and the economy, even as it undergoes a period of disruption. As such, sessions will look at the viability of electric vehicles and other alternatives in the market, as well as how digitalisation is the changing fleet and automotive businesses. Delegates will also be able to experience AV Living Lab, Continental and Location Solutions’ AI Driving Hub, which uses artificial intelligence to assess psycho-physiological characteristics of the drivers using biometric and sensor data, a digital twin, patented motion platform and customisable road scenarios. As a result, a fleet operator receives a detailed driver behaviour background check with 19 categories.

Delegates that test the technology will be able to upload their videos to the Truck and Fleet LinkedIN site throughout the day.

The Fleet & Mobility Summit is sponsored by Gold Sponsor: Continental; Transport Partner: UD Trucks; Technology Partner: IntelliSoft; Support Partner: TotalEnergies and Support Partner: NAZ Industries.
