Arada awards $20.4mn contract to RAQ Contracting for second Sarab villa community

Arada begins handover process for 101 townhouses and villas in first residential phase of $6.53bn Aljada megaproject in Sharjah

Arada, the UAE-based developer, has said that it has begun the handover process for 101 high-end townhouses and semi-detached villas in the Sarab community, which is located in the first residential phase of the $6.53 billion Aljada megaproject in Sharjah.

In a statement, Arada said that this process meant that it has completed almost 1,000 units since it handed over the first homes in Aljada in January this year.

It added that it has awarded the contract to build the second Sarab villa community in Aljada to the Dubai-based contractor, RAQ Contracting. The $20.4 million contract will cover the construction of 114 villas and townhouses over a 16-month period.

Work on the project has already begun, with completion scheduled for January 2023.

CEO Ahmed Alkhoshaibi said: “The Sarab communities are important additions to the variety of residential offerings at Aljada, reflecting Arada’s determination to deliver great design, great facilities and great value, all at the same time, and it was no surprise to see both clusters sell out rapidly.”

“We are grateful for our buyers’ trust and patience and look forward to supporting them through the lifetime of their investment with us. In addition, our award of the contract to build the second Sarab community shows our commitment to push forward at Aljada, where some 5,000 units are currently under construction,” Alkhoshaibi added.

The two Sarab communities feature the only villas and townhouses in the Aljada masterplan and are designed to make the most of green parks, natural light and ventilation. All the homes come equipped with smart home features as standard and a cooker, hood and washing machine/drier installed.

The developer adds that one of the highlights of the first Sarab community is a hidden residents-only gym and swimming pool, which is surrounded by trees and built below ground level, thus complementing the sense of privacy and exclusivity found throughout the entire development.

Although both communities are located in secluded parts of Aljada, they are both just a few minutes’ walk away from Madar, a 1.9 million sqft complex designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, the statement said.

So far this year, Arada has handed over the seven Areej Apartments buildings and the three Rehan Apartments buildings in the first phase of Aljada, it concluded.
