Alian Industry Company to begin trial operations of 3D concrete panel manufacturing plant in Sudair City
Move comes following the successful completion of testing for the machines and production lines in the factory
Al Kathri Holding Company, the Saudi-based group, has announced that its key subsidiary, Alian Industry Company, is set to begin trial operations at its 3D-printed concrete panel manufacturing plant in Sudair City, from August 15, 2021.
In a statement to Tadawul, the company said that the move comes following the successful completion of testing for the machines and production lines.
It added that the new 3D-printed concrete panel technology comes from Italy and is amongst the most advanced in the world. It intends for the panels to present an alternative to traditional building materials, the statement continued.
The new panels will help save costs by 30% compared to traditional building methods, the company stated, adding that the time taken to construct a building could be reduced to as little as three months if the technology is deployed.
In 2019, Alian Industry Company received initial approval from the Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF) to finance the construction of a 3D-printed concrete slab-making factory in Sudair City. The factory was to be developed as a result of a transfer of construction technology agreement Alian Industry signed with Emmedue (M2) earlier in the year.
The move was in line with the Ministry of Housing (Motivating Building Technology) and the National Industrial Development and Logistics Programme, which aims to provide the best housing solutions for home ownership and reduce the cost of construction, in addition to boosting the speed of implementation with high quality, in order to create suitable jobs for Saudi citizens in the construction sector.
