IHG currently operates 95 hotels across 7 brands in the Middle East, with a further 42 in the development pipeline due to open within the next three to five years
A new voco hotel will take shape in Jeddah following a deal that was signed between IHG Hotels & Resorts and the Arif Group. IHG said voco Jeddah North will feature 145 rooms and will open for business in Q1, 2022.
According to a statement, the voco brand was launched globally in 2018 and has gained tremendous momentum in the Middle East with signings and openings across multiple markets including Saudi Arabia.
“We are excited to welcome Arif Group into the IHG family with the signing of voco Jeddah North. With redevelopment of waterfront projects, airport infrastructure and high-speed train connectivity, Jeddah is emerging as an important destination within Saudi Arabia – it is also a crucial link between Madinah and Makkah,” said Pascal Gauvin, MD for India and MEA region at IHG Hotels & Resorts.
The hotel will feature an outdoor pool, a gymnasium and a spa with four treatment rooms, in addition to a range of dining options, a coffee lounge and a rooftop lounge. It will also offer 1,710sqm of meeting and banqueting space, and will be positioned as a perfect destination for upscale corporate guests and will be well suited for their MICE requirements, the statement said.
The hotel will be located close to Jeddah Seasons square, Obhur Corniche and the Alexandria beach, and is said to be only 3km from Kingdom City, the new anticipated centre of Jeddah.
