Virtual Women in Construction Summit gets underway
Session on safeguarding gender diversity leads Day One action at this year’s event
The second Women in Construction Summit is taking place as a digital event this week.
The free to attend event brings together well-known speakers from the regional construction sector and beyond to discuss important issues with a view to growing diversity across the built environment.
On each of the three days, a virtual presentation will be given at 12pm. Scheduled panel discussions at this year’s digital event include: Safeguarding Gender Diversity (November 8); Shattering the Glass Ceiling (November 9) and Building Ties with Academia (November 10).
The Middle East Consultant team notes that well renowned speakers from Autodesk, CIOB, Drees & Sommer, HKA, WSP and many other companies will be sharing their insights and recommendations on where the industry is now and how it should move forward.
Now in its second year, the 2020 edition of the Women in Construction Summit seeks to raise awareness about key issues and drive positive change across the built environment. Experts will discuss where the industry stands today, the opportunities and challenges created by the outbreak of COVID-19, how firms can balance their work environments and recruitment practices, and what companies can do to retain and attract fresh talent.
The summit also focuses on how the industry can deepen its links with academic institutions to appeal to young women and men, and give graduates the knowledge they need to succeed.
The event will close on November 11 with a special email newsletter featuring all the panel discussions and presentations from the three-day virtual event.
