SEWA announces completion of Rahmaniyah natural gas network project
The utility company is now implementing a 90km gas network extension in Khorfakkan, as well as a 120km extension in Kalba city
A 305km natural gas network in Rahmaniyah has been completed by the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA).
The total length of the network in Sharjah is now said to be 1,750km.
SEWA says it is now working on implementing a strategic 16km line from the Rahmaniyah station to the Muwailih commercial area. The line will serve the region including development projects such as Al Waha, Nasma, Al Zahia, a report from WAM said.
The utility company said it aims to deliver services to the people of the Rahmaniyah areas, and is taking advantage of the natural gas pumping station. The services connects to 700 residential villas while connections to other buildings are underway.
Dr Rashid Al Leem, chairman of Sewa, said that the natural gas network and pumping station operate according to the best technical specifications and the highest international safety and security systems. The natural gas network will ultimately reach all areas of Sharjah, and in line with this, studies are being carried out to continue to establish stations and the implementation of extensions in the emirate, he explained.
He stated that the number of people who benefit from natural gas services in Sharjah exceeded 300,000, and that SEWA continues to expand the natural gas network in new areas of Sharjah and the Eastern Region in Kalba and Khorfakkan.
