Colliers International announces Ian Albert as new MENA chief executive
Albert has led the Valuation and Advisory teams at Colliers in the MENA region for 12 years
Colliers International has appointed Ian Albert as its new chief executive for its affiliate offices in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The move follows the retirement of CEO John Davis who served more than 20 years at Colliers.
Commenting on Davis’ tenure, Colliers International CEO (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Chris McLernon stated, “Davis has demonstrated outstanding leadership over the past 20 years, and I would like to thank him for his exemplary service. During his tenure he has driven significant growth and transformed our business in the MENA region. He was instrumental in establishing our presence in the region moving from one office in the UAE to six, becoming a Colliers EMEA board member and helping steer the business through several major economic cycles.”
He added, “We were fortunate to have someone with John’s experience to drive growth in both geography and service lines.”
According to a statement, Albert has over 30 years of experience in the real estate industry, the last 23 of which were spent in the MENA region in senior positions in advisory companies and investment houses.
McLernon commented, “Strategic succession planning is key to ensuring continuity for our clients and our people and Albert has the right mix of experience and expertise to continue building on Colliers’ success to date and effect a truly seamless transition. It will be a huge privilege to lead Colliers in the MENA region. We are a truly global company full of talented and innovative professionals. I’d also like to extend my gratitude to Davis for his remarkable leadership and wish him and his family a safe and healthy future.”
Davis concluded, “After more than 30 years of working across various global real estate markets, retirement is going to be a big adjustment but one that I am looking forward to. I am proud of the growth we, as a team, have achieved over the years across the MENA region. Having worked closely with Ian since he joined Colliers nearly two decades ago, I’m confident that under his leadership, our businesses across the MENA region will continue to prosper.”
