Coronavirus outbreak forces Veronafiere to postpone SaMoTer to May

Official directives after Coronavirus outbreak in Italy leads to rescheduling of this month’s international equipment exhibition

The organisers of SaMoTer, the international construction equipment trade fair in Verona, Italy, have rescheduled the event and announced that its new dates will be 16-20 May.

A statement from Veronafiere, the organisers, said that the decision was being taken based on the requirements of the ordinance issued by the Italian Ministry of Health and the Veneto Region concerning Covid-19. Italy has reported several cases of the Coronavirus in recent weeks.

The event was originally scheduled for late this month and early April, but the Board of Directors of Veronafiere SpA decided to postpone the event and other events held in conjunction with SaMoTer – Asphaltica, the road infrastructure event; ICCX Southern Europe (precast); and LetExpo, the sustainable logistics trade fair – which will also share the same date. The board also “acknowledged the impossibility of ensuring proper timing for set-up, dismantling and logistics operations for upcoming trade fair events”, said the statement.
