Dubai Maritime City gets massive development boost

35% of developers agree to begin immediate development of plots

This week Maritime World, the umbrella body containing Dubai Maritime City ( DMC ) and other maritime entities, announced that the development of the Business District of Dubai Maritime City , has received an emphatic boost as 35% of developers signed-off and agreed to begin immediate development of their plots.

The 2.27 million sqm Dubai Maritime City is divided into the Maritime Centre, the Industrial Precinct, The Academic Quarter, the Marina District, the Harbour Residence, and the Harbour Offices. The Maritime Centre District is the centrepiece of Dubai Maritime City and will serve as an international hub for maritime business.

Maritime World also announced that a further 40% of companies will sign contracts during the coming week.

Khamis Juma Buamim, Chairman of Drydocks World and Maritime World said: “We are delighted that we are able to deliver as promised, due to the sustained faith from the business community in the credibility and huge prospective advantages of the re-engineered and well-conceived and planned City, which is well on its way to becoming an iconic development on the maritime trade and business scenario.

When completed, Dubai Maritime City will be a mixed use development for the maritime industry.  It will comprise of industrial, commercial, residential and leisure facilities housed on reclamation land between Port Rashid and Dubai Dry Docks
