China breaks ground on Expo 2020 Dubai pavilion
Construction Engineering Design Group Corporation Limited will be the architect involved with the project
China has broken ground on its pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai site. More than 40 Chinese representatives participated for the ground-breaking ceremony of China’s pavilion in Expo 2020 Dubai’s Opportunity District.
The Chinese pavilion is expected to be one of the largest at Expo 2020 Dubai at 4636 sqm. and will symbolise hope and a bright future, according to the expo committee. The pavilion is designed in line with the principle of ‘combination of the Chinese and Western culture with Chinese culture at the core’.
Zhang Shenfeng, commissioner general of the China pavilion, said: “China’s participation in the Expo 2020 Dubai in a high-quality manner is an important practice to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of our two countries.”
“It is hoped that the construction units of China pavilion will ensure the quality in accordance with the engineering requirements and strive to complete the work as soon as possible.”
Construction Engineering Design Group Corporation Limited will be the architect involved with the project. Reflecting China’s endeavours in practicing the ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative, the pavilion will mainly showcase the achievements made by China in science and information communication.
Expo 2020 Dubai will run from October 20, 2020 to April 10, 2020. and a total of 190 countries have confirmed their participation in the Expo.
