Omran opens two new Atana Stay hotels in Oman
Firm transformed two youth hostels into its new properties
The Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran) has opened two new Atana Stay hotels in the country. The Atana Stay Salalah and Atana Stay Ashkhara were inaugurated at an official ceremony under the auspices of Sheikh Salem bin Ufait Al Shanfari, chairman of Dhofar Municipality and attended by Omran’s CEO and government officials.
Omran took over the renovation of two Youth Hostels that were transferred to the company by the Ministry of Tourism last year and transformed them into Atana Stay hotels in Salalah and Al Ashkhara. The hotels are part of Omran’s ongoing efforts to boost domestic tourism and enrich the tourism sector with new experiences through its hospitality portfolio across the country.
“The launch of the new hotels coincides with the start of Salalah’s Khareef tourism season. The Atana Stay hotels will play an important role in offering a new experience that reflects the genuine Omani hospitality and the cultural aspects of Dhofar,” said Sheikh Salem.
The 54-room Atana Stay Salalah is said to boast a unique offering inspired by Omani heritage and lifestyle, while the 46-room Atana Stay Ashkhara is said to reflect the authenticity of the Al Ashkhara and Al Sharqiya Governorate. Both hotels are said to feature facilities designed to provide a rich experience to families and visitors.
Peter Walichnowski, CEO of Omran added, “We are proud to say that we have delivered both the Atana Stay projects in an impressive timeframe. We believe that it will significantly support the sultanate’s steady growth as a prime tourist destination.”
Atana Stay is a three-star sub-brand of the hospitality chain Atana Hotels and Resorts, which was established by Omran in 2014. The Atana and Atana Stay brands rollout will continue in various parts of the country through the conversion of existing Omran properties, as well as newly built hotels in line with the strategic efforts of Omran towards enhancing domestic tourism, the statement said.
