Turkmenistan unveils Expo 2020 Dubai pavilion design
The Central Asian country’s pavilion will occupy a little over 1,500sqm of space
The Turkmenistan pavilion design for the Expo 2020 Dubai has been unveiled featuring a 50m LED façade depicting the country’s natural and historical attractions. The Akhal-Teke horses native to the Central Asian country will play a prominent part in the pavilion experience, explained Dubai expo organisers.
The pavilion design is expected to showcase the country’s heritage and modern achievements alongside its spiritual dimensions, development priorities, international ties and its progress towards sustainable goals. Meanwhile, the country will also exhibit Turkmen goods and develop a programme of culture and business events at the Expo, the statement said.
Symbolising national pride, the Akhal-Teke horses will greet the visitors to the pavilion while images of five white horses will be projected onto the walls to reflect the movement of the visitors through an interactive three-sided hologram.
The journey will then guide the expo attendees from a colourful visual show to a space that will highlight the nation’s agricultural connections via elements representing wheat, cotton, and wind. Moreover, the pavilion will feature a ‘digital crop’ that will move and grow in response to touch.
Turkmenistan’s online news portal, Turkmenportal stated last month that the Tekmil Private Company will build and equip the pavilion for the Expo 2020 Dubai. Scope of work for Tekmil will include design and construction, provision of equipment, decoration, management, and dismantling services at the end of the expo, it added.
