India’s Larsen & Toubro wins UAE-substation contract
The contract is for the construction, supply, testing and commissioning of a 132/11kV substation in the emirates
Engineering and construction firm Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced that one of its key subsidiaries, Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) has secured a contract for the construction, supply, testing and commissioning of a 132/11kV substation in the UAE. The company said that its PT&D unit was also awarded an order for a 132kV cable circuit in the emirates.
According to a statement from L&T, the company has secured multiple contracts in India as well. An order was secured to covert overhead lines of a power distribution system to an underground cabling system in the cyclone-prone coastal town of Cuddalore in the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu, it stated.
Another contract was awarded for a transmission line package from the Bihar State Power Transmission Company Limited, as well as other add-on orders were secured from its existing transmission line projects, explained the statement from L&T.
L&T stated that it had also won an engineering, procurement and construction order (EPC) for the execution of drinking water supply projects in Srikakulam and East Godavari districts of Andhra Pradesh, as well.
