Airedale wins air conditioning contract for Riyadh Metro

UK-based Airedale International Air Conditioning has won the contract to supply its ‘EasiCool’ air conditioning units units for the Riyadh Metro’s data centres.

According to the company, the contract is worth $1.26 million with the units expected to ensure the Metro’s computer servers within a controlled temperature environment.

“This is a fantastic contract win for us, on a huge and very high profile project,” Asim Ansari, export sales manager at Airedale, was quoted by the Telegraph and Argus local newspaper. Exports now make up around 30% of our sales at Airedale and we have been growing our presence in the Middle East over the last few years, after establishing an office in Dubai in 2014. This has allowed us to strengthen partnerships in the region, in this case with Saudi Temco, SETRA and the BACS Consortium, which are heavily involved with the design and construction of the project.”

Airedale describes the EasiCool system as “a quiet, efficient, indoor precision air conditioning unit that maintains a precisely controlled air conditioned environment within the smallest possible footprint.”

Ansari added: “The made-in-Britain pedigree carries a lot of influence in the United Arab Emirates, as in many other countries. UK-engineered goods have become synonymous with the highest quality and continued technical innovation.”
