L&T awarded Kuwait power infrastructure contract

Contract will ensure that housing project in Kuwait will receive reliable power

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced that its Power Transmission and Distribution business unit has been awarded a $253 million contract for power infrastructure, in support of a major residential project in Kuwait.

As per the terms of the deal, the firm’s business unit will provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services to a total of 22 substations with a 132/11kV. Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity & Water is the consultant for the project, L&T said in a statement.

According to L&T, the substation networks will ensure that the housing projects being developed by the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) at South Al Mutala and South Abdullah Al Mubarak cities, will receive reliable power supply.

The construction company also said that it had received additional orders from underway Transmission Line projects in India and Egypt.
