Commenting on the event’s inaugural edition, Heijmans added: “The show’s technical, educational and learning features will bring industry professionals in close contact with the global market and its latest technologies and developments. “We would like to thank H.E. Eng. Amr Nassar, Minister of Trade and Industry for leading the Ministry’s efforts to make this show a platform for the exchange of ideas and learning from across the world. We look forward to continued cooperation in our collective effort to drive the Egyptian economy forward.”
The Big 5 Construct Egypt comes at a time when the government’s economic reform plan is in full swing. Some of the plan’s objectives include developing sustainable transport infrastructure, reducing urban congestion, boosting the mobility of people and services, and supporting economic growth.
This calls for various new urban developments, generating an increased demand for related infrastructure such as transport facilities and utilities, which Egypt is focused on providing on a wide scale. Mega developments such as the New Capital City and New Alamein City, require international partners in success, the latest equipment and technology, and construction professionals who are up to date with the industry developments.
The major boost in demand makes The Big 5 Construct Egypt a vital gateway for the latest technologies, business development opportunities, driving FDI into the sector and providing professionals with the knowledge base and latest tools in the industry.
“Our decision to launch in Egypt, where our brand already has plenty of recognition, comes as a natural response to this rapidly expanding construction market. dmg events is committed to continue investing in the Egyptian market, with The Big 5 Construct Egypt 2018 being the first of a long series of yearly events to come,” concluded Heijmans.
The Big 5 has been a staple of Dubai’s exhibition calendar for almost 40 years. Over the last few years, the exhibition has been held in a number of countries beyond the UAE, including Saudi Arabia, Morocco, and Kenya, becoming the largest and most influential go-to exhibition for the construction sector in the Middle East.
The Big 5 Construct Egypt is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and supported by the Egyptian Federation for Construction and Building Contractors (EFCBC) and the African Federation for Construction Contractors Associations (AFCCA).
