Matt Kitson to help strengthen the consultancy’s presence in the Qatar construction market
Hilson Moran Qatar has appointed a new regional director to its Doha-based office, Matt Kitson, who has previously led the development of environmental and sustainability modelling tool SuBET, which provides a master-planning design framework that complements sustainability assessment systems such as the GSAS/QSAS.
With more than a decade of experience in the industry, Kitson has worked on projects across the UK and Europe, including work on London’s Gherkin. His Middle East experience includes the re-masterplan for North Yas, Abu Dhabi.
“Qatar is committed to creating sustainable high quality environments for its community,” commented international director in charge of Middle East operations, Tony Morris.
“Matt’s appointment will help strengthen our presence here and enable us to deliver well-engineered, functional buildings and master-plans that are sustainable and environmentally progressive, Morris added.
Kitson added: “The Qatar market presents an exciting opportunity and Hilson Moran’s approach to design is very much aligned with the Qatar 2030 national vision. This is an exceptional career opportunity and I am extremely excited by the prospect of working on what will become some of the world’s truly iconic and sustainable designs.”
Hilson Moran describes its design approach as being based on the philosophy of ‘environments for life’, which meets the Qatar 2030 objectives of: environmental stewardship, social diversification, cultural identity and economic forethought.
