ADM calls on contractors to join OSHAD-SF to improve HSE standards

Unregistered contractors, consultants and developers urged to protect workers

Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM) has urged companies operating in the building and construction sector to comply with the stipulations of the Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health Centre (OSHAD), says a report by official news agency WAM.

ADM says that joining the Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health System Framework (OSHAD-SF) ensures “an appropriate and healthy environment suitable for all workers.” The organisation added that it wanst contractors, consultants and developers to take measures to protect the life, health and safety of workers.

Dr Huda Al Salmi, director of environment, health and safety at Abu Dhabi City Municipality, has also honoured eight representatives of companies operating in the building and construction sector in recognition of their obtaining Abu Dhabi OSHAD-SF certificates and their “fulfilment of all requisites of Abu Dhabi occupational safety and health standards.”

Al Salmi further called on all unregistered entities operating in the building and construction sector to register in OSHAD-SF via the hse@adm.abudhabi.ae email.

“Such measures support UAE laws to protect the life of all community members, especially labour workers at construction sites,” quoted WAM.
