UAE minister urges real estate and construction sectors to hire more Emiratis
Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli holds meeting with representatives from the UAE real estate and construction sectors
Leading real estate developers and construction companies have discussed ways to boost Emiratisation in the property sector at a key industry event in Dubai, UAE.
According to a WAM report, Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, took part in the meeting, which was also attended by officials representing 60 real estate developers and construction companies.
One of the key points at the meeting was a discussion about the mechanisms and procedures put into place for hiring Emiratis in the jobs set aside for them, the report added. The minister has been holding a series of meetings with businesses working in the targeted economic sectors so as to accelerate the process of employing UAE nationals in certain qualitative jobs.
The move also comes under the third stage of the UAE Government Accelerators, which covers the aviation, transport, telecommunications, technology, real estate development and customer service sectors.
Al Hamli stressed that the real estate development sector had a very important part to play in realising the National Agenda of the UAE Vision 2021, that aims to increase the share of local people in the private sector to 5%, besides shifting 50% of the UAE working force to private businesses.
“The real estate sector has witnessed a tremendous growth over the last few years and this qualifies it to provide more jobs for the UAE nationals,” Al Hamli remarked.
“Our visionary leadership is looking at the issue of increasing the share of the UAE nationals in the workforce as a strategic objective a matter that necessitates the cooperation of both the public and private entities in this regard.”
He also lauded the private companies that employed UAE nationals as per the partnership between the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Securities and Commodities Authority, SCA, and the targeted businesses.
