Developer agrees deal with MGAE to design project in Seef area of Kingdom
First Bahrain Real Estate Development Company, has signed up Mohammed Al Gharib Architects and Engineers (MGAE) to design an upcoming project in the Seef area of the Kingdom, it has been announced.
Following the success of El Mercado, the developer’s mixed-use retail and residential project, First Bahrain is now activating its holdings in Seef area with another open-air project, it said in a statement. The developer added that the new development will have more than 40,000sqft of retail space, and will be built on a 78,878sqft plot of land that is situated across the street from the City Centre Mall.
Designed to serve the surrounding residential area, the project will feature a mix of cafes, restaurants, entertainment and retail shops that will offer a distinctive ‘drive up and drive through’ experience.
“We were impressed with MGAE’s unique blend of expertise and their creative approach to our project. Always having an eye for opportunities, we identified a need for a complementary retail centre with an emphasis on convenience with consideration for the needs of the residents of the surrounding community,” said Amin Al Arrayed, CEO of First Bahrain.
“MGAE took the design elements of this project to a new level and we are eager to see this project come to life,” he added, after signing the agreement with Mohammed Al Gharib, the managing director of MGAE, on the side-lines of the Gulf Property Show in Bahrain.
Located along Road 2819, in between a group of new residential towers, the project will provide up to 26 units ranging in size from 320 to 15,600 sq ft of leasable area.
The offerings will include food and beverage, an anchor supermarket, entertainment, and services. Two of the units will offer drive-thru facilities.
“We are very happy to be partnering with First Bahrain on their new project in Seef. Our team of professionals constantly thrives to explore creative opportunities within each project we undertake and we are quite pleased with the progress of the design thus far,” said Al Gharib.
“Our approach will deliver a superior project with services that will hopefully complement the area.”
The construction work on the project is expected to start this summer and is due for completion by the end of 2019.
