Imkan says work has begun on three major Abu Dhabi projects
Alburouj development in Cairo is also underway, developer says
Property developer Imkan says that works have started on three major projects in Abu Dhabi, as well as at its Egyptian development Alburouj in Cairo.
Speaking ahead of Cityscape Abu Dhabi, CEO Walid El Hindi said that National Marine Dredging Company had begun dredging work for the reclamation 6ha of land for the 18ha Makers District master-planned development on Reem Island.
He also revealed that the enabling works for the “creative residential component of the district” Pixel, including 700 lineal metres of shoring, 180,000 cu/m of excavation and over 900 permanent piles, will start in Q2 2018.
Excavation on its Nudra development, which comprises 37 shell-and-core high-end beachside villas, has also been started by Wates and Eastern.
Finally, contractor Al Fara’a has commenced preliminary works on Abu Dhabi’s first open-air leisure and entertainment venue, Sheikha Fatima Park.
“We are truly proud of the headway we are making across our projects at home and abroad. We are not simply building homes and offices, we are shaping a whole new mindset in real estate,” said El Hindi. “Our projects bring a unique design sensibility, quality and way of life to the cities they are part of. We are confident that once complete, our destinations will generate unparalleled interest as they meet the residential and workplace needs of a vibrant, creative, and socially conscious community.”
