$178m deals awarded to Saudi JV
Deals are for the Briman Strategic Water Reservoir and the Al Khumra Lifting Station
The Saudi Arabian National Water Company has awarded a joint venture between local Al Muhaidib Contracting Company (AMC) and Vinci Construction UK two separate contracts in Jeddah.
The deals, worth a total of more than $178m, are for the design and build of the Briman Strategic Water Reservoir and the Al Khumra Lifting Station.
The water reservoir will be a two-year project and will involve the design and construction of a 1.5mm3 water storage facility, as well as a year of operation and management of the reservoir.
Over a 12-month period, the treated effluent lifting station will be designed, procured, and constructed, after which a one-year operation and maintenance contract is to follow.
The station will collect treated water from existing plants into an underground wet well and pumping station.
“These projects play a crucial part in the water infrastructure in the country and we are pleased to use our expertise to deliver the projects,” said Ivan Norris, Managing Director of the Gulf region for Vinci Construction UK.
