The Sustainable City show jumpers help promote community
Event in line with mission to promote social sustainability
The Sustainable City, the Middle East’s first fully-operational sustainable community recently hosted a Show Jumping Competition organised by the city’s Equestrian Club.
The event welcomed 80 horse riders from the UAE and across the region and also featured a special K9 Dubai police dog show, as well as a series of activities for families and children. The show jumping competition included two rounds, which were judged by a panel of experts that was supported by the UAE Equestrian Racing Federation. The competition winner was Abdullah Waleed Al Sharbatly, an internationally renowned Saudi equestrian and former Olympic medallist. On the day, children were treated to pony rides, while all visitors enjoyed craft and market stalls, tours of the city, and the opportunity to win exciting prizes in a raffle draw.
“In line with its mission to promote social sustainability alongside environmental and economic sustainability, The Sustainable City supports its community and enhances the lives of its residents with a variety of activities, educational events, and academic outreach and exchange programmes throughout the year,” it said in a statement.
