Musanada signs $311m contract to build 786 villas
WS Atkins appointed as project consultant for the residential complex in Gyathi, Abu Dhabi
A contract worth $311.7m has been signed to develop a residential complex consisting of 786 villas in the Western region of Gyathi, it was announced on Tuesday.
The housing project is being built in line with directives from the President, HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Gen HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The contract was signed between Abu Dhabi General Services (Musanada), the National Transport and Contracting Company and Al Dhabi Contracting Company.
Musanada has appointed WS Atkins as the project consultant, while the project itself will be developed through two contracts, the first for the construction on 433 residential units by Al Dhabi Contracting and the second for the construction of 353 units by the National Transport and Contracting Company.
Work on the project is scheduled to begin by the end of August, with a completion date within 20 months. The project will be built on 420 hectares, with each villa having five rooms and a majilis on an area of 537m2.
The complex will also have associated facilities such as mosques, shopping centres, schools and recreational facilities.
