LACASA appoints McArthur for Mall of Palestine operations
$40m mall project is scheduled to open in early 2019
McArthur + Company has been appointed as the retail consultancy and operator of The Mall of Palestine, as per a statement from LACASA Holdings. LACASA Holdings is the entity behind the $40m mall project, which is said to be the largest retail destination in Palestine.
The retail consultancy’s scope will include design consultancy and retail mix advisory at the construction stage, followed by operations management once the mall is completed. Tom Dvoracek, director of Retail Development and Matthew Stych, market research manager at McArthur + Company visited Ramallah along with LACASA Holdings’ chairman, Emad Jaber in October 2017, to conduct a site visit and to meet with prospective buyers and retail tenants.
LACASA Holdings says it appointed McArthur + Company following the positive experience that LACASA Architects had with the retail consultancy, working on several other large-scale projects in the region. LACASA Architects is a subsidiary of LACASA Holdings and is responsible for the entire design of the mall project.
“We’re thrilled to have McArthur + Company onboard as our retail consultants and operators. The consultancy’s portfolio and service offerings are impressive, and we look forward to working with them over the next year to create an iconic landmark and an unparalleled retail experience for our customers,” explained Emad Jaber, chairman, LACASA Holdings.
Scheduled for completion in 2019, the Mall of Palestine will consist of 160 retail units, five anchor stores, a hypermarket, 21 food and beverage units, a food court, a kids’ play area, a ball room, an ice rink, a cinema, and an indoor skydiving chamber.
The mall’s brand identity was developed by LACASA Holdings’ creative communications agency, INTEGR8.
