UAE invests $2.72bn on power, water projects

FEWA says second phase of the project will cover Ajman, UAQ, RAK and Fujairah
Mohammed Mohammed Saleh, director general of the UAE Federal Electricity & Water Authority (FEWA) has said the authority is currently working on electricity and water projects in different parts of the country worth a total cost of $2.72bn.
The first phase of the projects, which was concluded in 2011, saw FEWA implement electricity projects worth around $1.37bn to boost the transfer capacity of the grid to 7100 mega volts and for distribution grids from 4400 to 6600 mega volts, said Saleh.
The second phase will cover the emirates of Ajman, Umm Al Qaiwain, Ras Al Khaimah, Dhaid, Dibba and Fujairah, he noted.
