Growing business activity prompts municipality to launch several projects
Growing business activity in the UAE emirate of Ajman has prompted the municipality to launch several projects aimed at boosting the emirate’s infrastructure and attract investors and tourists.
The civic body has decided to speed up work on several road projects to improve traffic movement, Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, chairman of the Ajman Department of Municipality and Planning, told the Khaleej Times.
The Al Nuaimia area has seen the completion of the construction of Sheikh Jaber Al Sabah Road, Al Nuaimia Main Road and College Street, where also a number of internal streets have been paved and made two-way, several parking lots constructed, and street lighting and drainage installed at a cost of $7.9m, Sheikh Rashid said.
Work is also progressing to implement road improvements in Al Zahra and Al Muwyhat areas, where the internal streets would be paved for two-way traffic and have 2.5m-wide hard shoulders at a total cost of $4.35m, Sheikh Rashid said.
